How Often Should You Blog

Online Marketing Question – How Often Should You Blog?

online marketing

As an online marketing consultant, my friends and clients ask me how often you should post new content to your blog.

Before I answer that question though, I should explain that blogging drives traffic in two ways…

  1. SEO – The more blog posts you have, the more visibility you'll have on search engines.
  2. Social Media – New content syndicated to your social media accounts shows users that you are the subject matter expert.  These users are more likely to click your post link and check out your website.

On a more granular level, Hubspot noted that you should blog 2-3 times per week, which is consistent with my experience.  In addition, Hubspot noted that it take 52 blog posts to raise your site authority.   At 3 times per week, that's 17 weeks…wow!

Online Marketing – 5 Strategies For Increasing Your Blog Frequency

  1. Schedule Your Posts – Put your writing times on your calendar; this will ensure that you write!
  2. Recruit – Your staff will love to contribute.
  3. White Board – Brainstorm topics, so that you know what you are going to write about ahead of time.
  4. Buy Content – There are many blog post writers on the web and Elance.
  5. Hire A Writer – The Panda content showed that content is king, so if you rely on web traffic for your business you may want to consider hiring a writer.

Hi.  I have not used Mint.com before, but I plan on trying it today!

In this blog post, I am going to review the web design and give feedback on various criteria.  Enjoy!

web design

Denver Web Design Criteria #1- Get attention

The headline is good…"The best free way to manage your money."

Denver Web Design Criteria #2 – Identify the problem

The problem is easy to understand…managing your money is hard.

Denver Web Design Criteria #3 – Present your credentials

The site has endorsements from ABC, the New York Times, and Money.

Denver Web Design Criteria #4 – Show the benefits

Under the primary healine, there are 4 benefits outlined in the copy.

Denver Web Design Criteria #5 – Give social proof

"Over 6 million people use Mint."

Denver Web Design Criteria #6 – Make your offer/Call to Action

The offer is crystal clear…"Free! Get started here >"

Denver Web Design Criteria #7 – Give a guarantee

The offer is free, so there is little risk on that.  The only other issue is information security, which is addressed with the bank level security copy and security symbols.

Denver Web Design Review – Overall Thoughts

In general, I would give MInt.com an "A" for their design…very, very good design!
